Café Manager

POSITION

Full time position is available for a Café Manager in Paddy’s Green, Mareeba QLD 4880.

SKILLS

The role requires you to hold at least a diploma level qualification or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

REPORTING

You will report to the General Manager.

RESPONSIBITLIES

As the Café Manager, you will be responsible for managing the operations of the Café while maintaining a friendly and approachable attitude towards customers and colleagues.

DUTIES

As a café manager, you will undertake the following tasks:

  • Working with the chef to manage the food and beverage menu including:
    • Cost costs
  • Stock rotation
  • Menu creation for the staff morning tea and lunch provision
  • Ordering stock and managing par levels for the café, this will include alcohol.
  • Ensuring all food and beverages meet the expectations of the building, the business, and its customers.
  • Working with the Roastery team to meet the daily demands of visitors and staff.
  • Recruiting new staff and working with the HR manager to ensure compliance.
  • Managing the roster and staff leave periods.
  • Managing and maintaining the cleaning of the café.
  • Working with the Roastery manager to ensure the POS systems are operational and correct.
    • Lightspeed – accounts for the tour groups & functions are managed and accurate detailed in order for accounts to raise invoices
    • Ai-Menu system is maintained and managed
    • Ai accounts are managed on a daily basis and that the fortnightly reconciliation with wages is accurate
  • Planning and organising functions & events.
  • Establish a diary that can be accessed by the GM and other key managers.
  • Growing the agri-tourism offer through established relationships with tour operators.
  • Equipment and building maintenance.
  • Ensuring compliance with Liquor Licences.
  • Ensuring adherence to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and requirements.

ADDITONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • C-Class manual drivers’ licence (if operating company vehicles).
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

SALARY

An annual salary of $70,000 - $80,000 based on experience.
