POSITION

We have a full-time position of Hotel Receptionist available in Cairns QLD, 4870.

SKILLS

You must have at least a relevant AQF Certificate III and 12 months of relevant experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Be the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and other relevant persons. This involves always providing a welcoming and friendly demeanour including when assisting with the check-in/out process, dealing with customers inquiries and actioning items as necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Ensure high-quality customer service is provided to guests at all times.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the hostel.
  • Elevate issues as required.
  • Manage reservations & check-ins, payments and check outs.
  • Handle customer queries and questions.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with guests, staff, and vendors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate online hostel reservation information.
  • Ensure all emails are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service are maintained.
  • Respond to and close out guest concerns and complaints.
  • Deal with any issues that arise.
  • Respond to guest and staff feedback regarding broken or malfunctioning items and liaise with state site manager to arrange and implement a preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Ensure all guests abide by hostel rules.
  • Ensure the cleaning team maintains quality standards for cleanliness.
  • Undertake daily spot checks of rooms.
  • Assist with the management of all external contractors including cleaners, pest control companies, fire monitoring, council and waste contractors.
  • Assist with the management of the performance of external contractors and ensure all issues are rectified in a timely manner.
  • Assist in implementing yield management principles in response to occupation levels, seasonal fluctuations etc to help maximise hostel revenue.
  • Ensure that the hostel identifies and meets the changing needs of guests.
  • Assist with maintaining and regularly updating the hostel's social media pages.

SALARY

The salary will range from $60,000 - $65,000 depending on the candidate’s skill, experience and education.
