POSITION

We have a full-time position for a Horticultural Supervisor available in Lakeland QLD 4871.

SKILLS

You require at least a Certificate IV level qualification and at least 1 year of relevant employment experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role as the Horticultural Supervisor will be to supervise farm cultivation operations at different farming stages of fruit growth.

DUTIES

The position will require you to complete the following duties:

• Taking directions from managers to meet production objectives.
• Supervising a wide range of farm operations as harvesting, bagging, de-budding, de-leafing, de-suckering, dieseling, and pruning.
• Assessing field cultivation measures to maintain plant health.
• Training new staff as to required duties for their position.
• Monitoring staff hours, performance and reporting any staff grievances.
• Ensuing staff have the required tools and equipment for scheduled work.
• Checking tasks performed by farm hands is correct and completed.
• Ensuring deadlines are met for cultivation measures.
• Organising the transportation of staff and produce on the farm.
• Overseeing that the waste materials are dispose correctly.
• Inspecting farm equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and repairs are made when necessary.
• Ensuring and enforcing compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards.
• Ensuring farm biosecurity measures are maintained.
• Additional duties may be required from time to time as required by the business.

SALARY

The salary offered will be $60,000 to $ 80,000 per annum based on candidate’s experience.
