Your Opportunity:

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a dynamic role with a meaningful impact? Join our team as a Finance Officer, where you will play a key part in providing essential administrative and corporate support to the Executive Officer (Corporate), Accountant, and management team. This role encompasses finance, payroll, travel management, and various corporate-related activities to ensure the smooth operation of our Commission.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and maintain payroll, creditors, and debtors systems on a weekly/periodic basis, including reconciliations using accounting software.
  • Assist with compliance and lodgment of statutory obligations, including Payroll Tax, BAS (GST & PAYG), and superannuation.
  • Manage travel arrangements, bookings, and diary maintenance for the Commission.
  • Support business operations, including leasing, infrastructure, and purchasing.
  • Reconcile corporate credit cards and assist in financial reporting for audits.
  • Provide financial data and reports to support weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial decision-making.
  • Monitor HR, financial, and other operational risks and ensure corporate governance compliance.
  • Oversee expenditure reporting for telecommunications, internet, fuel, and other utilities.
  • Assist with asset ledger management and support equipment maintenance.
  • Manage Q-Fleet vehicle maintenance and oversee gift card expenses.
  • Drive continuous improvement strategies by reviewing and updating processes and procedures.
  • Support the organisation of the annual Local Commissioner Development week/training.

About You

  • Experience with accounting software and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory financial obligations (Payroll Tax, BAS, superannuation).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficient in handling travel arrangements and diary management.
  • Experience with asset and vehicle fleet management.
