The Client

Our Client is located in the real outback of Queensland. A place where bilbies, starry nights and beautiful parklands for you to enjoy. They are located in Southwest QLD. They are located 750 km west of Brisbane and 620 km west of Toowoomba.

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and ready to make a positive impact in local government? We are seeking a WHS Advisor to join our team, providing safety guidance and expertise in the beautiful and rugged Outback of Queensland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of WHS policies and procedures.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Provide support and advice to local government staff on WHS issues and promote a strong safety culture.
• Coordinate safety training programs and ensure staff adhere to safety protocols.
• Investigate workplace incidents and assist in identifying preventative measures.

About You

• A solid understanding of Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
• Experience working in Outback Queensland is highly desirable – local knowledge is an asset.
• Previous experience or familiarity with the Safety Champion Program is a huge advantage.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence staff at all levels.
• A commitment to staying on-site for the duration of the assignment; this is not a Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) role.
