POSITION:

Full-time position for an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Mechanic is available in Kununurra 6743 WA.

REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

You are required to have at least a relevant AQF Cert III or above and at least 1 year of relevant work experience. At least 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification listed above.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role of the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Mechanic is to assemble, install, repair and maintain industrial, commercial and domestic air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) systems.

REPORTING:

You will report to the owner.

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Installation: Install new refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, ducts, and piping, following blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Repairs: Diagnose faults and perform repairs on refrigeration and air conditioning systems, replacing defective parts, and reassembling and testing equipment.
  • Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and fix mechanical, electrical, and control system malfunctions.
  • Safety Compliance: Comply with all safety standards and procedures, ensuring proper handling and disposal of refrigerants in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service work, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and parts inventories.
  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients, explaining system issues, repair processes, and maintenance tips, and provide cost estimates for repair and maintenance services.
  • Upgrades: Recommend system upgrades and energy-efficient solutions to clients to improve system performance and reduce energy consumption.
  • Training: Stay updated with industry advancements and participate in ongoing professional development to maintain certification and enhance skills.
  • Inventory Management: Manage tools, parts, and supplies inventory, ensuring availability for maintenance and repair tasks.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues.

SALARY

$70,000 - $80,000 based on experience.
