POSITION:
Full-time Position for a Caf?/Restaurant Supervisor is available in Cairns City QLD 4870.
SKILLS:
The role requires you to hold at least a relevant AQF (or equivalent) Cert IV or above + 12 months of relevant employment experience.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
The role of Caf?/Restaurant Supervisor is to supervise, coordinate and train food and beverage staff and ensure a high level of customer service is delivered to guests.
DUTIES:
- Supervise operations of Caf? and Restaurant – ensure smooth daily operations.
- Supervise and train staff – assist in the induction and training of all food and beverage staff ensuring all competencies are met.
- Monitor staff - including rosters, performance and resolving any grievances.
- Plan daily work – plan set and inform staff of timing and priorities of work tasks whilst dealing with problems as they arise to minimise impact on scheduled work.
- Consult with business owners/managers and other staff – ensure regular communication with owners/manager ensuring to carry out any instructions from management.
- Provide high level of customer service – take reservations, greet, and acknowledge each guest in a friendly manner, handle customer complaints positively.
- Cash handling.
- End of day reporting and staff cost / beverage cost monitoring and reporting.
- Preparing displays and presenting stock, including specials.
- Preparing and mixing a range of sophisticated drinks.
- Practice Promote and Follow OH&S procedures - be a lead participant in the quality improvement process whilst promoting safety to staff and patrons.
- Coordinate emergency response - promptly ascertain the scope and severity of the emergency and develop the appropriate responses. Follow the caf? emergency procedures, understand evacuation procedures, and ensure full compliance.
- Ensure premises and equipment are clean – where required ensure all areas of the Caf?/Restaurant are maintained in a clean manner.
- Observe and enforce Liquor Licencing – ensure that the liquor licencing requirements are adhered to at all times ensuring all staff are aware of requirements and any breaches by patrons are dealt with promptly.
- Entry/supervision of entries in accounting records required to be kept and maintained under the relevant industry standards.
- Ensure adequate stock levels – monitor and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained in all areas of the establishment.
- Other incidental and peripheral duties as requested by the employer.

SALARY:
An annual salary of $60,000 - $70,000 based on experience.
