About You

• You are an experienced and detail-oriented financial professional with a passion for public sector finance. You bring:
• CPA accreditation (essential)
• Experience in Local Government finance (highly desirable)
• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience with Xero and ApprovalMax is advantageous
• Drivers licence

As the 2IC to the Finance Manager you will:

• Prepare financial statements and reports in line with Australian Accounting Standards and Local Government regulations
• Oversee and monitor the Long-Term Financial Plan, including forecasting and financial modelling
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, fraud protection measures, and audit requirements
• Develop financial literacy across Council teams, empowering managers to make informed financial decisions
• Mentor and support the Finance Officers to drive efficiency and accuracy across financial operations
