POSITION

We have full-time positions for Farm Workers available in Mareeba 4880 and Tully 4854, Far North Queensland.

SKILLS

The role requires you to have at least 1-year relevant job experience. Experience in banana farming is desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role as a Farm Worker is to perform routine tasks as directed to assist with in banana crop cultivation.

DUTIES

The position will require you to perform the following duties:

• Meeting with Farm Supervisor and Managers to receive assigned tasks.
• Collecting and preparing equipment for daily use.
• Completing any prestart machinery checklists.
• Cleaning, sterilising, and maintaining equipment and machinery.
• De suckering, de leafing and stringing bananas.
• Bell injecting banana bell before bell flowers emerge.
• Pruning banana bunch to the correct number of hands.
• Selecting appropriate coloured bags and sizes for use.
• Bagging banana bunch and ensuring secured correctly and covering bunch.
• Harvesting of banana bunches and loading onto transport.
• Sorting, grading and packing
• Operating machinery to perform slashing, mulching, and fertiliser duties.
• Maintenance and repair of irrigation lines and sprinklers.
• Reporting completed tasks to the farm supervisor.
• Additional duties may be required from time to time as required by the business.

SALARY

The salary offered will be $60,000 to $70,000 per annum negotiated based on your experience.
