POSITION:

Full-time position for a Plumber is available in Mareeba, QLD 4880


REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

You are required to have an AQF (or equivalent) Certificate IV and at least 1 year of relevant full-time work experience. At least 3 years of relevant full-time work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, fixtures, and related components within residential, commercial, and/or industrial buildings. You will work to ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and relevant legislation.

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems for water distribution, wastewater disposal and gas supply.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in residential, commercial and industrial settings, including water supply, drainage, gas and septic systems.
  • Work with a variety of plumbing materials and tools, including pipes, valves, fittings and pumps.
  • Install plumbing fixtures such as sinks, bathtubs, toilets and water heaters.
  • Fit and install pipework, fixtures and fittings in new residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Install and maintain water treatment systems, drainage systems and stormwater management piping.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine plumbing system layouts.
  • Test plumbing systems for leaks and ensure proper functioning.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of plumbing systems to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Diagnose faults in existing plumbing systems and carry out required repairs.
  • Identify and fix leaks, blockages and other plumbing issues in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity and efficiency of plumbing systems.
  • Install, repair, and maintain septic systems, including tanks and drainage fields.
  • Conduct inspections and servicing of septic and wastewater management systems.
  • Ensure plumbing systems and components meet all required standards and regulations.
  • Perform regular maintenance on plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Ensure installations and repairs meet safety and environmental protection requirements.
  • Apply relevant plumbing codes and standards to all work.
  • Administer and schedule work, including coordinating and reviewing tenders, pricing, and delivery.
  • Coordinate project handovers to site contacts, if applicable.
  • Ensure timely processing of quotes and follow up with suppliers for the best pricing.
  • Liaise with the Office Manager regarding customer accounts and quotes.
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with the building codes, installation requirements and legislation.
  • Test and install backflow prevention devices and ensure plumbing systems meet required safety standards.
  • Work in physically demanding environments, including lifting materials, working in confined spaces, and being exposed to varying weather conditions.
  • Follow safety protocols when using tools and machinery and travel between job sites as needed.

SALARY:

$35-$40 per hour based on experience.
