The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Administrator for an immediate start in a temporary Government role based in the heart of Central West Queensland, approximately 300km from Mount Isa.

This is a diverse and pivotal role within the Corporate and Financial Services team, combining administration, finance, customer service, and leadership responsibilities.
If you are looking for a true outback experience and have strong local government experience, this six-week contract is the perfect opportunity!

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-level administrative support across corporate and financial functions.
• Deliver excellent customer service both internally and externally.
• Assist in financial processing and reporting activities.
• Lead and support a small team to achieve operational goals.

About You

• Previous experience within a local government environment is essential.
• Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent demonstrated experience in a senior administrative support role.
• Loving having worked in rural QLD communities is a huge plus
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to summarise documents, prepare reports, and draft accurate correspondence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with SynergySoft, Altus Business Systems, or other local government software systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent organisational, time management, and customer service skills, with the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
