The Client

A busy Government Department is looking for a competent and focused administration/customer service officer to join their call centre. The key to success will be your ability to multitask and problem solve in a fast paced environment.

Are you a highly organised customer service professional with strong call centre experience and a knack for problem-solving? We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Maintenance Support Officer / Customer Service Officer to join our team in Townsville, supporting responsive maintenance services for government housing properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer and make calls to tenants regarding maintenance issues, providing prompt and professional service
• Arrange responsive maintenance works and liaise with contractors
• Calmly manage difficult conversations and provide effective solutions using de-escalation techniques
• Accurately input and manage data using relevant software, databases, and tools
• Foster strong working relationships with both clients and contractors
• Meet or exceed key call centre metrics while maintaining consistent, high-quality service

About You

• Previous experience in a call centre or customer service environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication, active listening, and phone skills
• Strong multitasking, time management, and decision-making abilities
• Confidence in resolving issues and thinking on your feet
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and Teams
