The Opportunity

Precruitment is proud to partner with a long-standing Local Government client in Central West Queensland to recruit a Senior Human Resources Officer for a 6-month fixed-term maternity leave contract (ASAP start).

The role

• Lead and support day-to-day HR operations across the organisation
• Partner with the executive team to implement meaningful people initiatives
• Provide guidance and support to two HR Officers in the team
• Help re-imagine Council’s annual staff recognition initiative
• Contribute to streamlining internal HR processes and reducing red tape
• Support the development of more consistent and contemporary HR practices

This role would suit someone with strong generalist HR experience who understands compliance but isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo and bring fresh ideas to the table. Experience within Local Government or a similar regulated environment is highly desirable. If you have the capability, there may also be the opportunity to step into additional responsibilities, including elements of recruitment and leadership of the broader HR function during this contract period.
