Manager of Works Services

Precruitment is proud to be partnering with a longstanding Local Government client in Queensland, which serves a community of fewer than 2,000 residents, to recruit their next Director of Infrastructure.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing the Council's Infrastructure and Works Services. You will deliver important infrastructure projects, maintain and improve local and state roads, and ensure services like the airport, water, and wastewater are running smoothly, on time, and within budget, all while meeting legal and regulatory requirements.

About You

• Experience in a similar Local Government role (essential)
• Ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams with the ability to manage strong personalities
• Strong expertise in infrastructure, operations, grant writing, and financial management
• Strong communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution skills
• Strong project management skills with experience leading large local and state road projects
• Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence
• Engineering qualification or relevant work experience
