Your Day-to-Day Will Include

  • Orchestrating the end-to-end payroll process for all department staff.
  • Interpreting and applying legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements with precision.
  • Maintaining rock-solid data integrity across payroll systems while upholding confidentiality.
  • Preparing and lodging accurate reports and payments.
  • Serving as the go-to expert for payroll queries from employees and external stakeholders.
  • Driving audits, compliance checks, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Supporting and coaching your payroll team with empathy, clarity, and purpose.

You Bring

  • Deep experience managing payroll in complex environments — ideally in the government sector.
  • Mastery of payroll legislation, enterprise agreements, and HR/finance integration.
  • Technical savvy with payroll systems and the full Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Laser-sharp attention to detail and time management.
  • A commitment to discretion and confidentiality in all things people and payroll.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate sensitive queries with professionalism.

Desirable but Not Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, HR, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Previous experience working within government or the public sector.
