The Client

This Government Agency is well established in Queensland and is in charge of all the infrastructures throughout.

The Opportunity

This is not a FIFO role you must live in Mackay or the surrounding areas to be considered.

Our client is looking for a motivated and experienced Supervisor (OO6/1) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in the delivery of building, maintenance, and upgrade projects by supervising field and office staff, subcontractors, and coordinating works across diverse locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise staff and subcontractors to deliver high-standard building projects.
• Conduct detailed condition assessments and provide accurate project estimations.
• Oversee the creation of high-quality tender and quotation documents.
• Ensure all works adhere to workplace health and safety requirements and current HR practices.
• Deliver building condition inspections and collect materials for laboratory testing (e.g., asbestos samples).
• Support the implementation of all Safety Management System (SMS), including WHS audits, plant/equipment inspections, and ensuring risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) are in place.
• Promote and maintain a culture of workplace safety and compliance.

About You

• Strong supervisory experience in construction or maintenance projects.
• Computer literacy and ability to use project management software.
• Current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card (White Card).
• Current Driver’s License and willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays and occasional light aircraft travel.

Highly Desirable:

• Construction industry-related trade qualification.
