POSITION

We have a full-time position of Banana Farm Worker in Upper Daradgee, QLD 4860.

SKILLS

The position requires at least 1 year of relevant work experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of the Banana Farm Worker is to perform routine tasks as directed to assist with banana farming.

POSITION DUTIES

You will need to undertake the following tasks:

• Meeting with Farm Manager to receive banana blocks to undertake bunch bagging.
• Collecting and preparing equipment and supplies for the days use.
• Completing any prestart machinery checklists.
• Operating farm equipment and machinery to complete tasks.
• Pruning bunch to the correct number of hands.
• Selecting appropriate coloured bags and sizes for use.
• Bagging banana bunch and ensuring secured correctly and covering bunch.
• Bell injecting banana bell before bell flowers emerge.
• De suckering, de leafing and stringing bananas.
• Maintenance and repair of irrigation lines and sprinklers.
• Cleaning, sterilising and maintaining equipment.
• Reporting completed talks to the farm supervisor.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment for handling and mixing chemicals, as per instructions (only authorised people are permitted to access and mix chemicals).
• Additional duties may be required from time to time as required by the business.

SALARY

The salary offered will be $60,000 to $75,000 per annum based on your experience.
