Airport Manager - Western Queensland

The Opportunity
Join a proactive Local Government in Central Western Queensland as Airport Manager, responsible for ensuring the airport operates safely, efficiently, and in line with CASA, DOTARS, OTS, and other regulatory frameworks.Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure and Environment, you will oversee day-to-day airport operations, supervise staff, manage compliance programs, and ensure the airport is maintained to the highest standard.

• 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading
• Permanent full-time role with Local Government

About You
You’re a skilled airport operations leader with excellent communication and compliance management skills. You understand aviation safety standards, regulatory frameworks, and the importance of community and stakeholder engagement.

You will bring:
• Current Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) certification
• Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate
• Experience managing airport operations, safety systems, and compliance programs
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent planning, reporting, and stakeholder engagement ability
• Current C Class Driver’s Licence, Police Clearance, and ASIC Card

Desirable:
• Local Government airport management experience
• Ramp operations and refuelling knowledge
• Pest management and weed control certification
• Trainer/Assessor or supervisory experience
