HR System Implementation Specialist

Precruitment is proud to partner with a regional Queensland Council to source their newest member of their HR team, to be based in their Cairns satellite office (please note this role cannot be completed remotely).

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a project-focused role outside of BAU HR, where you’ll drive the implementation of Employment Hero across HR and payroll. Reporting to the Executive Manager of Corporate and Financial Services, you’ll join a supportive and forward-thinking leader who is passionate about making efficiencies now to future-proof the organisation.

You’ll be walking into a project already at Phase 1, with plenty of low-hanging fruit ready for you to make quick wins. From building onboarding and induction packs to rolling out training, updating policies, and embedding new performance review frameworks, you’ll be driving meaningful changes that will directly shape how HR operates for years to come. You’ll also work closely with the Project Manager (Change Management Specialist) to ensure a smooth roll-out and strong uptake across the organisation.

• $120,000 + Super
• 6-month fixed-term contract with possibility for extension

About You
We’re seeking someone can bring strong policy and procedure expertise to this role. No prior local Government experience is required but what matters most is your ability to help embed frameworks, update outdated policies, and drive efficiencies. With excellent stakeholder management skills, you’ll be comfortable engaging with different teams, navigating change, and championing new ways of working in a historically paper-based environment.
