The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Officer (Accounts) to join their Corporate Services team in Cairns on a Temp to Permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will provide vital support across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial processing.

You will work closely with a cross-cultural, geographically dispersed team that services communities across Cape York Peninsula, the Gulf of Carpentaria, North Queensland and the Torres Strait Islands. This is a great opportunity for an experienced or emerging finance professional seeking a role that combines technical skill with meaningful impact.

About You

You are a motivated finance professional who enjoys accuracy, problem-solving and teamwork. You bring experience in accounts payable and receivable functions and are confident working in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and initiative are valued.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Strong computer literacy with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Teams).
  • Experience using Pronto Xi or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong time management, organisation and reconciliation skills.
  • Experience working in a multi-site or regional business environment.
  • Familiarity with web-based banking and debtor management systems.
  • Understanding and respect for Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal cultures.
