Project Manager – Regional Queensland Council
The Opportunity
A Regional Queensland Council is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Infrastructure Services Department and deliver a diverse suite of capital works, building, civil, and major maintenance projects.
You will report to the General Manager Infrastructure Services and play a key role in planning, leading, and delivering assigned projects while building strong, positive relationships across the community. The role requires a hands-on professional who can work effectively with contractors, funding agencies, engineers, and internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

About the Role
You will manage the full lifecycle of building and civil capital projects within an approved works program. Responsibilities include:
• Leading multidisciplinary projects from initiation to completion
• Developing project plans, budgets, risk assessments, and reporting documentation
• Preparing and reviewing funding submissions, reports, and progress updates
• Providing cash-flow forecasting and monthly financial reporting
• Managing the performance of contractors and consultants
• Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, statutory, and legislative requirements
• Contributing to long-term asset planning, infrastructure strategy, and capital works programs
• Liaising with stakeholders, funding bodies, contractors, and regulators
• Providing specialist technical and engineering advice
• Ensuring all project documentation is accurate and up to date
• Proactively improving project delivery systems and processes
About You
You are a proactive, adaptable, and community-minded Project Manager with strong civil or building project experience. You communicate effectively, enjoy working within a culturally diverse environment, and can confidently influence internal and external stakeholders.
You will bring:
• Degree qualification in Project Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience delivering capital works projects, ideally within Local Government
• Strong understanding of contract administration, estimating, cost control, and budgeting
• Excellent verbal, written, and report-writing abilities
• Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills
• Ability to maintain positive relationships and represent Council professionally
• Current QLD C-Class licence and Construction White Card
