A Government Department is seeking an experienced Project Engagement Officer to provide additional support to a busy Customer and Stakeholder Engagement team within the Northern District. This contractor role has been created in response to increased project activity across a significant infrastructure program.
You will support engagement and communication activities across multiple high-profile road and transport projects, working with a diverse and geographically dispersed stakeholder group. These projects are critical to program success and require consistent, timely, and high-quality engagement to ensure positive community outcomes.

About the Role
As Project Engagement Officer, you will provide hands-on support to ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement across the project portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting the delivery of stakeholder engagement activities across multiple projects
• Ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent communication with stakeholders
• Assisting with the development and delivery of communication and engagement materials
• Maintaining consistency and quality across all project messaging
• Engaging with road users, local residents, businesses, and Local Government stakeholders
• Supporting consultation activities and responding to stakeholder enquiries
• Coordinating engagement activities to support project milestones and timelines
• Providing additional capacity to reduce pressure on the existing engagement team
About You
You are a confident engagement or communications professional who enjoys working closely with stakeholders and supporting project delivery in a Government or infrastructure environment.
You will bring:
• Experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, or community consultation
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience preparing clear, audience-focused communication materials
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Experience in infrastructure, construction, or Government projects (highly regarded)
