The Opportunity

A Regional Queensland Local Government is seeking a qualified Plumber / Gasfitter to join their Housing Team, delivering maintenance, installation, and construction works across community housing and Council facilities.

Operating on a 3 weeks on / 1 week off FIFO roster, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference while enjoying structured time off. About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering plumbing and gasfitting services across residential and Council assets, ensuring works meet regulatory requirements and quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:
• Maintenance, installation, and repair of plumbing and gas systems
• Supporting new construction and refurbishment projects
• Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, BCA, and relevant regulations
• Diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions
• Working across community housing and Council facilities
• Maintaining tools, equipment, and safe work practices
• Supporting the Housing Team with general trade duties as required

About You

You are a qualified and experienced plumber/gasfitter who can work independently in a remote environment and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.

You will bring:
• Certificate III in Plumbing
• Plumbing and Drainage Licence
• Gas Work Licence
• Construction White Card
• Strong knowledge of plumbing standards and compliance requirements
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Commitment to safety and quality
• Current Driver’s Licence

Desirable:
• Experience in remote or Local Government environments
• Additional high-risk licences or plant operation skills
