Grants Officer
The Opportunity
A Regional Queensland Council is seeking an experienced Grants Officer to lead the identification, development, and management of funding opportunities aligned to organisational priorities.
Working closely with the CEO and Executive Management Team, you will play a pivotal role in securing funding that supports infrastructure, community services, and economic development initiatives. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on grant writing, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination.
This opportunity suits a highly organised professional who can work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong collaboration with leadership and internal teams.

About the Role
You will manage the full lifecycle of grant activities, from identifying opportunities to reporting and acquittals.
Key responsibilities include:
• Identifying and researching grant opportunities aligned to Council priorities
• Preparing high-quality grant applications, proposals, and submissions
• Coordinating reporting, compliance, and acquittal requirements
• Managing awarded grants and contract obligations
• Building relationships with funding bodies and stakeholders
• Maintaining accurate records of applications and outcomes
• Preparing reports for leadership and Council meetings
• Supporting project budgeting and financial tracking
• Developing tools and processes to support grant-funded projects
• Promoting continuous improvement and funding strategies
About You
You are a proactive and analytical professional with strong writing skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
You will bring:
• Experience in grant writing, applications, and grant management
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage reporting requirements and compliance
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience working independently in a remote setting
Additional Requirements:
• Ability to travel to the community twice per year for approximately one week
• Dedicated home workspace with reliable internet
• Current Driver’s Licence
