POSITION

Full time position is available for a Pressure Welder in Pinkenba, QLD, 4008.

SKILLS

At least an AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training or a Certificate IV. In addition to the qualification at least one year of relevant work experience is required. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Pressure Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding on pressure vessels, pipelines, boilers, structural components and associated metal fabrications in accordance with engineering drawings, Australian Standards, and industry specifications.

The role requires precision welding techniques including MMAW, TIG, MIG, and FCAW processes on carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy materials in workshop and site environments.

DUTIES

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, welding procedures and technical specifications
  • Preparing materials by cutting, measuring, aligning and securing components
  • Performing pressure welding on pipelines, boilers, tanks, pressure vessels and structural steel
  • Operating welding equipment including TIG, MIG, Stick (MMAW) and FCAW
  • Welding in various positions including vertical, overhead and confined spaces
  • Conducting pre-heating, post-weld heat treatment and finishing processes
  • Inspecting welds for quality and compliance with relevant Australian Standards
  • Repairing defective welds and carrying out rework where required
  • Performing routine maintenance on welding equipment
  • Complying with WHS regulations and maintaining safe work practices
  • Working collaboratively with fabricators, boilermakers and engineers

SALARY

$75,000 - $85,000 per annum based on experience.
