About the Company

Our client is a well-established and reputable engineering and construction organisation delivering mechanical HVAC projects across North Queensland. With a strong pipeline of secured work and a reputation built on safety, integrity, and quality outcomes, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Plumber or Plumber to join their construction team.
Working alongside experienced Supervisors, Refrigeration Mechanics and other trades, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality HVAC installations while developing your mechanical services expertise within a supportive and safety-focused environment.

Role Overview

The Mechanical Plumber contributes to the delivery of commercial and industrial HVAC projects by installing the specialised pipework and mechanical services that enable heating and cooling systems to operate effectively. Working alongside other mechanical and construction trades, this role involves installing chilled and heating water pipe systems, connecting plant room equipment and interpreting project drawings to ensure mechanical systems are installed accurately and efficiently. The position plays an important part in delivering reliable building services across construction and upgrade projects while maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship, and compliance.

Job Offering

• $45-$50 per hour plus super and either a vehicle or vehicle allowance

Responsibilities

• Install chilled water, condenser water, and heating water pipework systems for commercial HVAC projects
• Fabricate, assemble and install pipe systems using copper, steel, and other materials
• Install and connect mechanical services equipment including pumps, valves, strainers, and plant room infrastructure
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics and project specifications
• Conduct pressure testing, commissioning support and system troubleshooting where required
• Work collaboratively with Refrigeration Mechanics, Electricians and project teams to deliver projects safely and on schedule
• Maintain strict compliance with Australian Standards and workplace health and safety requirements
• Ensure works are completed to high quality standards while maintaining safe and organised work sites

What We’re Looking For:

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Plumbing or Plumbing
• QBCC – Mechanical Plumbing Licence
• Demonstrated experience installing commercial or industrial HVAC pipework systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Strong knowledge of chilled water and mechanical services installations
• Construction White Card
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
