POSITION

We have a full-time position for a Farm Mechanic available in Tolga QLD 4882.

SKILLS

You require a Certificate III or above Trade qualification and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role as the Farm Mechanic is to maintain, service and repair a wide range of farming plant, equipment and machinery.

DUTIES

The position will require you to complete the following duties;

• Plan and execute farm machinery maintenance activities.
• Inspect and assess machinery to determine what repairs and maintenance is required.
• Conduct repairs and routine maintenance of all farm machinery.
• Dismantle or remove engine assemblies, transmissions, fuel systems, hydraulics and other components.
• Repairs or replaces work or defective parts and reassembles mechanical components.
• Tests and calibrate motors, fuel systems, electrical, gears, brakes, clutches and chains.
• Operate and test farming plant, equipment and machinery following repair to ensure correct operations.
• Implement and schedule preventative maintenance plans.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns as a priority to ensure limited down time
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and service areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Order and source spare parts and materials required for maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service schedules for all equipment.
• Communicate regularly with farm management to determine work priorities.
• Ensure WHS standards are upheld and managed as per WHS policies.

SALARY

The position will attract a salary of $85 000 to $ 95 000 per annum based on candidate’s experience.
