POSITION

We have full-time opportunities for the position of Horticulture Supervisor in Mareeba, QLD, 4880.

SKILLS

This role requires you to possess at least a Certificate IV or a higher qualification and a minimum of one-year relevant experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role as the Horticulture Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations in the Orchard and Packing Facility.

REPORTS TO

You will be required to report to the Farm Manager.

POSITION DUTIES

You will undertake the following duties;

• Consultancy and planning with the farm manager to meet the business objectives.
• Delegate, organise and supervise the work of farm hands.
• Training new staff as to required duties for their position.
• Monitoring, hours, breaks and performance and reporting any staff grievances.
• Leading a team of farm workers, providing guidance and assigning tasks.
• Monitoring task completion and ensuring production targets are met.
• Assessing field cultivation measures to maintain plant health.
• Ensuring quality and grading of harvest to minimise damage and meet market requirements.
• Monitoring packing line to ensure smooth flow of fruit and no delays between stations.
• Ensuring packed produce is stacked, labelled and packed for transport.
• Inspects farming equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and arranging repairs are made when necessary.
• Ensuring packing facility is cleaned and remains clean and tidy.
• Checking shed stock to ensure enough supplies for planned packing.
• Ensure and enforce compliance with food safety, biosecurity and OH&S.
• Ensuring equipment is maintained, arrange any necessary maintenance as needed.
• Supervising and managing the inspection and maintenance of farm infrastructure including water supply systems.
• Supervise the installation, maintenance and regular monitoring of irrigation systems.
• Additional duties may be required from time to time as requested by the business.

SALARY

The annual salary offered will range from $65,000 to $75,000, negotiated based upon your level of experience.
