The Opportunity

A State Government Department is seeking an experienced Senior Supervisor to join their team on a temporary basis. This role is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade works through effective project coordination, contractor supervision, and resource management.

Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with industry standards, legislative requirements, and agreed cost and time parameters. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with strong construction supervision experience who enjoys leading teams and delivering high-quality project outcomes.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and reviewing project standards using effective work order management techniques
• Reporting to stakeholders on project status, service quality, expenditure, and delivery outcomes
• Managing regional resources to deliver construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects efficiently
• Supervising the delivery of service maintenance contracts, facilities works, and traditional construction works
• Assisting in the planning and delivery of projects, including contractor coordination and supervision
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and industry best practice
• Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment across all project sites and operations
• Promoting services to clients and identifying opportunities for new business development
• Managing staff performance, development, and conduct in line with organisational expectations
• Coordinating plant, equipment, depot resources, and motor vehicle allocation to support project delivery

About You

You are an experienced construction or maintenance professional with strong supervisory capability and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality project outcomes.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience supervising construction, maintenance, or facilities projects
• Strong knowledge of building construction and maintenance legislative and regulatory requirements
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to monitor budgets, timelines, and project delivery performance
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Current Workplace Health and Safety General Safety Induction Card (White Card)
• Construction industry-related trade qualification (highly regarded)
