Infrastructure Project Manager – Cape York QLD

The Opportunity

A Cape York Local Government organisation is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the delivery of operational and capital works projects across the community.

This role is responsible for managing projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to coordinate resources, manage contracts, and deliver high-quality infrastructure outcomes.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working across multiple projects while contributing to meaningful outcomes in a remote community.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of infrastructure projects across civil, building, and maintenance programs.

Key responsibilities include:
• Managing end-to-end project delivery across operational and capital works
• Developing and maintaining project plans, timelines and reporting frameworks
• Coordinating internal teams, contractors and stakeholders
• Managing procurement, tendering and contract processes
• Monitoring project budgets, expenditure and financial performance
• Preparing reports, updates and communications for stakeholders
• Supporting community consultation and engagement where required
• Ensuring compliance with WHS, legislation and Council policies
• Reviewing contractor performance and driving continuous improvement

About You

You are an experienced project manager with strong construction or infrastructure experience and the ability to operate effectively in remote environments.

You will bring:
• Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure or capital works projects
• Strong understanding of construction, estimating and cost control
• Experience in procurement, contract management and tender processes
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Financial management and reporting capability
• Experience working within WHS frameworks
• Current C Class Driver’s Licence and White Card

Desirable:
• Qualifications in Project Management or related discipline
• Local Government or remote community experience
• Experience working with QBuild or similar
