Manager Infrastructure / Works – Central QLD Council
The Opportunity
A Local Government organisation is seeking a highly experienced Manager Infrastructure / Works to lead the delivery of civil infrastructure programs while driving organisational uplift and reform.
This is a critical leadership role responsible not only for delivering capital works and maintenance programs, but also for strengthening operational capability, embedding governance frameworks, and improving performance across the infrastructure function.

• $160,000 base salary + superannuation

About the Role
You will provide strategic and operational leadership to the infrastructure and works function, ensuring the effective delivery of civil works programs while strengthening internal capability and systems.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading the delivery of capital works and maintenance programs across civil infrastructure
• Driving organisational change, accountability and performance improvement
• Embedding governance frameworks, systems and operational processes
• Managing budgets, resources and project delivery outcomes
• Providing high-level advice to executive leadership and stakeholders
• Leading and developing teams to improve capability and performance
• Managing stakeholder relationships across internal, external and political environments
• Ensuring compliance with legislative, safety and organisational requirements
About You
You are an experienced infrastructure leader with a strong background in civil works and a proven ability to lead teams through change and deliver complex programs.
You will bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent senior infrastructure leadership experience)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering (roadworks and drainage)
• Demonstrated leadership capability in complex operational environments
• Proven experience delivering civil works programs within scope, budget and timeframe
• Strong ability to drive accountability, performance and organisational improvement
• Experience implementing systems, processes and governance frameworks
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
