POSITION

We have a full-time position for a Restaurant Manager available in Cairns, QLD 4870

SKILLS

The role requires you to hold at least a relevant AQF Diploma or equivalent qualification and

at least 1 year of relevant full-time employment experience OR at least 3 years of relevant

full-time employment experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role is to manage daily operations to ensure efficient service and a high-quality

customer experience. The role includes managing and supervising staff and collaborating

with the Chef on menu planning. Key responsibilities include delivering excellent customer

service, managing inventory and supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with health

and safety regulations. The Restaurant Manager works autonomously, reporting directly to

ownership, while monitoring financial performance, controlling costs, handling

administrative duties, and driving business growth through marketing and effective team

coordination with minimal oversight.

TASKS

The position will require you to perform the following tasks;

  • Manages daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service and coordination

between front and back of house.

  • Lead, train, and manage staff, including recruitment, rostering, and performance

oversight.

  • Plan and develop menus with Chef, considering seasonality, pricing, and customer

preferences.

  • Plan and coordinate special functions and events, including bookings, staffing, and

logistics.

  • Deliver excellent customer service and resolve guest feedback and complaints

promptly.

  • Manage inventory and ordering, maintaining stock levels and minimising waste.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing requirements.

  • Monitor financial performance, controlling costs and managing budgets to meet

targets.

  • Drive sales and profitability through promotions and customer engagement

strategies.

  • Coordinate with kitchen teams to ensure food quality, consistency, and timely

service.

  • Oversee accounting and administrative tasks, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Lead local marketing initiatives and community engagement to promote the venue.

SALARY

  • The salary offered will be $75,000 to $85,000 per annum, negotiated based on your

experience.
