POSITION:

We have a full-time role available for a Bar Attendant in Cairns 4870.

SKILL LEVEL:

The role requires you to hold at least a relevant AQF Cert III or above and 12 months of relevant work experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Bar Attendant, your responsibilities involve preparing, mixing, and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons in a licensed bar setting. You must ensure that all drinks are made to the correct specifications, maintain cleanliness behind the bar, and provide excellent customer service. In the role, you will also handle cash transactions, monitor guests' alcohol consumption, and adhere to safety and legal requirements. This position requires attention to detail, a friendly demeanour and a flexible approach to work to be able to assist at any given time.

REPORTING:

You will report to the Bar Supervisor.

DUTIES:

• Prepare, serve, and sell alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including cocktails, mixed drinks, bottled/canned beverages, and coffee-based drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, espresso)
• Clean and maintain bar service areas, coffee-making areas, and espresso machines
• Collect payments and operate POS systems
• Take customer orders and provide excellent customer service
• Promote products and services and upselling when taking patron orders
• Wash glassware and arrange bottles and glasses
• Tap kegs and attach supply lines
• Replenish drink dispensers, shelves, and refrigerators
• Select and grind coffee
• Maintain knowledge of beverage products including beer, wine and spirit selections
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and adhere to legal requirements
• Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA)

SALARY

The position offers an annual salary of $65 000 - $75 000 negotiated based on your experience.
