POSITION

We have a full-time position for a Horticultural Supervisor available in Atherton QLD 4883.

SKILLS

You require at least a Certificate IV level qualification and at least 1 year of relevant employment experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role as the Horticultural Supervisor will be to supervise farm cultivation operations at different farming stages of fruit growth.

TASKS

The position will require you to perform the following tasks;

• Taking directions from managers to meet production objectives.
• Supervise a wide range of blueberry farm operations, including harvesting, pruning, mulching, irrigation maintenance, weed control, fertilising, and crop monitoring.
• Train new staff as to required duties for their position.
• Monitor staff hours, performance and reporting any staff issues.
• Ensure all product is packed in-line with packing plan and quality specifications under the instruction from Packhouse manager.
• Daily startup, testing and operation of packing equipment including refrigeration equipment, grading, packing machinery and mobile equipment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date cultivation records
• Organise the transportation of staff and produce on the farm.
• Assist in monitoring fruit quality
• Checking tasks performed by farm hands are correct and completed.
• Ensure and enforce compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards, including PPE and safety equipment management.
• Ensuring farm biosecurity measures are maintained.
• Additional duties may be required from time to time as required by the business.

SALARY

The salary offered will be $65,000 to $80,000 per annum negotiated based on your experience.
