POSITION
We have a full-time position available for a Bar Supervisor in Cairns City, QLD 4870.
SKILLS
The role requires you to hold at least a relevant AQF (or equivalent) Certificate III or above and 12 months of relevant work experience. If no relevant qualification, at least two years of full time relevant work experience is required.
RESPONSIBILTIES
As a Bar Supervisor, your key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, supervising, coordinating and training bar staff and ensuring a high level of customer service is delivered to guests. You will handle inventory management, customer inquiries and complaints while maintaining cleanliness and compliance with health regulations. You are able to lead by example and confidently follow management directions and procedures with a positive attitude.
DUTIES
Complete and implement daily opening, closing and trading checklists as assigned by department manager, completing all shift closing and pack down tasks.
- Promptly report faults and maintenance issues and where appropriate, escalate these issues with service providers for quick resolution.
- Supervise and maintain cleanliness of area ensuring clean bar areas by clearing tables and collecting glasses.
- Supervise and provide general assistance and guidance to Bar Attendants.
- Assist with preparing, serving and selling beverages such as cocktails, mixed drinks, bottled, canned and other alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages as required.
- Practice and enforce proper tendering and stock control procedures to reduce stock variance, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Attend to beer line and beer / beverage tap maintenance as required.
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements, including emergency procedures, fire safety systems, hazard identification, incident reporting, first aid awareness, and safe work practices.
- Work with the Venue Operations Manager AND Assistant Venue Operations Manager to ensure the department performance of staff is productive including:
- Conduct job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintain a record of progress for each staff member.
- Objective, accurate and detailed completion of Supervisor Reports and Incident Reports to the VOM.
- Ensure compliance with F&B cash handling procedures, accurately record takings, investigate discrepancies, and train and monitor team members in correct cash handling practices.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring a professional, clean, and customer-focused venue environment.
- Understands gaming machine operations, Responsible Service of Gaming (RSG), AML/CTF Program and acts as a Customer Liaison Officer for self-exclusion.
- Can competently perform all gaming attendant duties and assist with trouble shooting if required. Competently perform cash clearance through to banking, shift balancing and Keno closing procedures.
- Be able to resolve problems effectively and professionally.
- Assist with an ensure effective and efficient coordination of employee rosters and timesheets.
- Promote the Employer’s services and facilities to customers when appropriate.
- Maintain current liquor licencing knowledge, venue specific requirements and thorough knowledge of all systems.
- Complete tasks as directed by management.

SALARY:
The salary offered will be $65,000 - $80,000 per annum negotiated based on experience
