POSITION
We have full-time positions available for Lead Educator in Bamaga, 4876.
SKILLS
The position requires a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and to have at least one year of relevant experience as a Lead Educator.
The applicant must also hold a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Lead Educator coordinates the room and is responsible for the overall wellbeing and development of the children in their care. This includes planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, maintaining a safe and stimulating environment, and communicating effectively with parents, families, and staff.
DUTIES
You will be undertaking but not limited to the following duties;
- Coordinate the work of the team to meet all needs within a room and ensure room is running cohesively.
- Determine the team allocation of room planning time and tasks.
- Liaise with management, fellow group leaders and other staff to ensure appropriate use of equipment and shared spaces.
- Implement a curriculum relevant to the individual needs and interests of the children. It is imperative that the program reflects the philosophy of the Centre, the National Quality Framework and The Early Years Learning Framework
- Embrace and meet all areas, standards and elements of the National Quality Framework.
- Ensure a working knowledge of and comply with the current Education and Care Services Regulations and the Education and Care Services Act.
- Maintain essential records of children’s learning and development and the program.
- Discuss with other educators the specific needs of children/families enrolled at the Centre.
- Ensure a healthy, safe and welcoming environment.
- Support parents and communicate effectively with families regarding their child/children’s learning and development and share relevant records with parents.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Perform all work in accordance with WHS legislation and the organisation’s policies and procedures
- Participate as member of a team in delivering culturally appropriate and well-planned services to the people of Bamaga.
- Attend training sessions relevant to position and field of work.
- Represent the organisation and/or programs at conferences and workshops as required.
- Any other duties consistent with the scope and level of this position as required and directed by the Director
SALARY
The position will attract an annual salary of $70,000 - $80,000 negotiated based on your experience.
