POSITION

We have a full-time Fitter and Turner position available in Mona Vale, New South Wales 2103.

SKILLS

The role requires you to have a relevant AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or higher qualification. In addition, you must have at least one year of relevant work experience. Alternatively, a minimum of three years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role as a Fitter and Turner is to machine, fit, assemble, maintain, and repair mechanical components and production equipment. You will interpret engineering drawings and manufacture parts to tight tolerances using lathes, milling machines, and other relevant machinery. Working as part of a skilled team, you will ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety, quality, and production standards.

TASKS

The position will require you to perform the following tasks;

  • Attend toolbox meetings led by the Production Manager and actively contribute to safe work practices.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine material requirements, machining methods, and sequence of operations.
  • Set up and adjust machining tools, including guides, stops, cutting tools, dies, and machine controls, to achieve required specifications.
  • Operate machining equipment to cut, drill, grind, bore, press, and shape metal components to fine tolerances.
  • Fit fabricated metal parts into assemblies and subassemblies to construct mechanical products and systems.
  • Assemble metal components accurately to ensure correct alignment, clearance, and functional fit.
  • Inspect fabricated and assembled components using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with engineering tolerances and quality standards.
  • Maintain proficiency in operating all relevant machinery within the factory.
  • Identify and report equipment faults, production issues, or quality deviations promptly.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Work Health and Safety policies and procedures.

SALARY

The salary offered will be $75,000 to $ 85,000 per annum, negotiated based on your experience.
