AO3/1 Business Support Officer

The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Business Support Officer to join a well-established Queensland Government team delivering essential building, construction and maintenance services across the region.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys administration, thrives in a structured environment, and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality support. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day business operations by providing administration support, maintaining records, responding to customer enquiries, and assisting internal teams with efficient service delivery.

Working as part of a collaborative and professional team, this position will suit someone who enjoys recurring administrative work, can manage competing priorities, and brings a positive, team-focused attitude.

About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
• Deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders
• Prepare accurate documentation, reports, correspondence and business records
• Maintain and update information systems including Ellipse and Microsoft Office applications
• Provide administrative support across daily business operations
• Manage incoming enquiries and appropriately escalate matters when required
• Support senior staff during periods of absence by ensuring business continuity
• Develop, maintain and improve administrative procedures, manuals and registers
• Assist with records management, data entry and document control
• Coordinate recurring administrative tasks within required timeframes
• Contribute positively to team culture and continuous improvement initiatives

About You
You are an organised and detail-oriented administration professional who enjoys working in a busy support environment. You take initiative, communicate professionally, and can confidently manage routine processes while remaining adaptable to changing priorities.

You will bring:
• Previous administration or business support experience
• Strong customer service and stakeholder communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and record keeping
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• A proactive and flexible approach to changing priorities
• Strong team collaboration skills with the ability to work independently when required
• Current unrestricted driver licence
• Ability to commit to full-time hours (36.25 hours per week)
• Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word
• Previous Ellipse experience highly regarded but not essential
