AO3 Procurement Support Officer

The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity is available for an organised and customer-focused Procurement Support Officer to join a well-established Queensland Government team supporting essential infrastructure, construction and maintenance operations across the region.

This role is ideal for someone with procurement or purchasing administration experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, supporting internal stakeholders, managing documentation, and ensuring procurement processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will play a key role in supporting procurement operations, contractor coordination, purchasing activities, and process improvement initiatives.

This is a varied position suited to someone who enjoys balancing customer service, administration, procurement support and project-based tasks while working as part of a collaborative and professional team.

About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
• Provide high-quality customer service and act as a key point of contact for procurement-related enquiries
• Deliver purchasing, procurement, administrative and contract support across the business
• Process purchase orders, work orders, field release orders and procurement documentation for operational delivery
• Assist with the development, review and maintenance of procurement procedures, guidelines and standard forms
• Maintain document control and ensure procurement records remain accurate and up to date
• Support procurement-related projects, research initiatives and process improvement activities
• Assist with contractor coordination, meetings, training schedules and stakeholder communications
• Support the delivery of procurement training, inductions and development materials
• Maintain awareness of procurement legislation, policy and departmental requirements
• Contribute positively to team culture and provide flexible support across multiple procurement functions

About You
You are an organised and adaptable administration or procurement professional who enjoys supporting operational teams and ensuring processes are followed accurately. You are customer-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple priorities in a structured environment. Previous Government procurement exposure will be highly regarded.

You will bring:
• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, contract administration or business support
• Strong customer service and stakeholder communication skills
• Experience processing purchase orders, procurement documentation or contractor administration
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and document accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across varying team functions
• Strong written communication and reporting capability
• Experience within Government procurement environments highly desirable
• Understanding of procurement procedures, governance and compliance principles
• Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams
• Further study or qualifications in procurement highly regarded
