Estimator (Building Projects)

The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join a well-established project delivery team responsible for delivering building construction, maintenance and upgrade works across a diverse portfolio.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys working across tendering, costing and project preparation, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance and commercial outcomes. You will play a key role in preparing estimates, quotations and trade packages for a variety of building projects while working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors to achieve quality outcomes.

About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
• Prepare accurate and timely tenders, estimates and quotations for building projects
• Develop detailed material take-offs, cost breakdowns and construction programs
• Produce high-quality tender documentation aligned with client and organisational requirements
• Utilise estimating software and systems to ensure consistency, efficiency and best practice
• Prepare project trade packages and supporting commercial documentation
• Assist with costing analysis, contract administration and contract cost management activities
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and stakeholders to obtain pricing and technical information
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved procurement outcomes
• Ensure estimating activities comply with relevant standards, policies and industry requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating and commercial processes

About You
You are a commercially minded construction professional with previous estimating experience and the ability to deliver accurate pricing across building works. You are organised, detail-focused and confident working with multiple stakeholders to meet deadlines and achieve strong project outcomes.

You will bring:
• Previous estimating experience within construction or building projects
• Strong understanding of tender preparation, costing and quotation processes
• Experience preparing material take-offs and project cost estimates
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams
• Excellent time management and attention to detail
• Current Driver Licence
• Experience working within building, construction or maintenance environments
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office systems
• Experience within Government or large-scale project environments will be highly regarded
