POSITION

We have a full-time position available for a Bar Supervisor on Thursday Island, QLD 4875.

SKILLS

The role requires you to have at least a relevant AQF Certificate III and 12 months of relevant work experience. If no formal qualification is held, at least 2 years of relevant work experience if required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Bar Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bar, ensuring efficient services and high customer service standards. This includes supervising, coordinating, and training staff, managing bar presentation and cleanliness and monitoring stock levels. The role involves preparing and serving beverages, processing customer payments, and managing cash handling procedures, including floats and banking.

DUTIES

• Supervise, coordinate, and train staff to ensure efficient operations and high service standards.
• Allocate duties to staff, monitor staff rosters, hours, performance and resolve any grievances.
• Ensure smooth running of daily operations and communicate standard procedures to staff to assure quality and consistency of service.
• Oversee bar presentation, including stock, specials and maintain cleanliness of bar areas, glassware and equipment.
• Process customer payments and operate point-of-sale systems and cash registers.
• Monitor and ensure adequate stock levels of wine, beer, liquor and bar supplies are maintained.
• Respond professionally to customer requests and feedback while promoting the venue’s services and maintaining high customer service standards.
• Maintain workplace health and safety and ensure liquor and gaming licencing and requirements are always adhered to.

SALARY

The salary offered will be $70,000- $80,000 per annum negotiated based on your experience.
