POSITION

A full-time Restaurant Supervisor position is available in Canberra ACT 2601

SKILLS

The role requires you to have at least a relevant AQF (or equivalent) Certificate II or III and 1 year of relevant work experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the restaurant during allocated shifts to ensure exceptional customer service and smooth operational performance. The role focuses on leading staff on shift, maintaining service standards, supporting training and operational procedures, and assisting management in achieving business objectives.

Restaurant Manager / General Manager

POSITION DUTIES

  • Supervise restaurant operations during rostered shifts and ensure service standards are consistently maintained.
  • Lead, motivate, and support front-of-house staff to deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Assist in maintaining the company’s culture, values, and professional workplace standards.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by responding to customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct pre-service staff briefings and communicate operational updates, menu changes, and daily expectations.
  • Assist with training and mentoring staff to ensure service procedures and standards are followed.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of standard operating procedures and sequence of service standards.
  • Monitor staff performance during shifts and report any concerns to management.
  • Assist with preparing and managing staff rosters as directed by management.
  • Ensure all cleaning and maintenance schedules are completed and workplace hygiene standards are maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with stock control and communicate stock shortages or ordering requirements to management.
  • Operate and supervise POS systems, cash handling, and end-of-shift balancing procedures.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures of the venue.
  • Encourage staff to maximise sales opportunities through upselling and cross-selling techniques.
  • Support the implementation of promotions, special events, and marketing initiatives within the venue.
  • Maintain effective communication between front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service operations.
  • Assist management with reporting operational issues, customer trends, and opportunities for service improvement.
  • Ensure appropriate workplace behaviour is maintained and report breaches of company policy to management.
  • Create and maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Act as the main point of contact on shift in the absence of senior management where required.

SALARY

Annual salary of $75,000 - $90,000 based on experience.
