Plumber / Gasfitter – Regional Queensland Council

The Opportunity

A Regional Queensland Council is seeking motivated Plumbers / Gasfitters to join its growing Infrastructure Services team.

This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, repairing and constructing essential water, sewerage and gas infrastructure that supports local communities every day. Working across a diverse range of maintenance, installation and compliance activities, you'll enjoy plenty of variety while developing your skills within a supportive and safety-focused team.

• Earn up to $100K per annum including overtime, penalties and applicable allowances
• Permanent full-time position (38-hour week)

About the Role

You'll play an important role in maintaining essential public infrastructure and delivering reliable water, sewerage and gas services across the region.

Key responsibilities include:

• Installing, maintaining and repairing water, sewerage and gas infrastructure
• Undertaking plumbing and gasfitting maintenance, fault finding and emergency repairs
• Operating and maintaining a variety of plant and equipment safely and efficiently
• Conducting inspections and compliance activities in accordance with relevant standards
• Responding to customer requests and service interruptions
• Working collaboratively across maintenance and construction projects
• Maintaining a strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Providing support across other operational areas when required

About You

You're a qualified Plumber / Gasfitter who enjoys practical, outdoor work and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes.

You will bring:

• Trade qualification as a Plumber and Gasfitter
• Current Queensland plumbing and gas work licences (or ability to transfer)
• Current C Class Driver Licence (HR Licence highly regarded)
• Construction White Card (or ability to obtain)
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a collaborative team environment
