POSITION
A full-time Accounts Payable & Receivable Clerk position is available in Cairns, QLD 4870.
SKILLS
The role requires the successful applicant to hold a relevant Certificate II qualification and have at least one year of relevant work experience. Where no relevant qualification is held, a minimum of two years of relevant work experience is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The purpose of the Accounts Payable & Receivable Clerk role is to ensure the accurate and timely processing and recording of financial transactions in accordance with internal procedures and Australian taxation requirements. The role supports the Financial Officer by maintaining accounts payable and receivable functions, preparing financial information and assisting with the preparation of financial reports for key stakeholders, while managing the company's creditor obligations. The position plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy and completeness of the organisation's financial records and documentation.
POSITION DUTIES
The Accounts Payable & Receivable Clerk will be responsible for:
- Maintaining purchase orders through the ongoing review and tracking of open purchase orders to ensure supplier costs are accurately captured in a timely manner.
- Processing accounts payable, including the timely entry of supplier invoices to ensure accurate recording of outstanding liabilities and prompt payment of creditors.
- Reconciling supplier invoices against creditor statements and resolving any discrepancies.
- Preparing and reconciling bank account and corporate credit card transactions.
- Accurately identifying, allocating and recording financial transactions within the company's accounting software.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial reports, including Profit and Loss Statements, Trial Balances and Balance Sheets.
- Preparing financial information and supporting documentation for submission to the company's accountants and financial institutions.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies, internal procedures and Australian taxation requirements.
- Liaising with suppliers, customers, accountants and financial institutions regarding accounts, payments, account reconciliations and other financial matters.
- Assisting with finance-related administrative duties, including maintaining financial records, filing financial documentation and supporting the efficient operation of the finance department.

SALARY
$70,000 – $80,000 per annum, based on experience.
