The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Program Officer (Procurement) to join a high-performing team in either Cairns or Townsville.

In this role, you will provide high-level procurement support to contract managers, project managers and program teams, ensuring procurement activities are delivered efficiently, accurately and in accordance with legislative and departmental requirements.

You will provide professional advice on end-to-end procurement activities, assist with contract administration and management, prepare and review procurement documentation, and support supplier evaluation and negotiations. You'll also contribute to process improvements, maintain compliance with governance frameworks, and build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

You are a detail-oriented procurement professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and thrives on delivering quality outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience in procurement, contract administration or a comparable support role
• Knowledge of procurement policies, procedures and governance frameworks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities
• High attention to detail with proven accuracy in reporting and documentation
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement

Experience providing procurement advice within a government environment will be highly regarded.
