POSITION
We have multiple full-time Secondary School Teacher positions available across the Far North Queensland Region.
SKILLS
The role requires you to hold at least a relevant bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Where the relevant AQF qualification was obtained in Australia, only 1 year of relevant work experience is required. You are required to be registered or be eligible to register with the Queensland College of Teachers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Secondary School Teacher is responsible for supporting the mission and Catholic ethos of the school through the delivery of high-quality, inclusive and engaging learning experiences that respond to the diverse needs of students. Working collaboratively with students, families, School staff and relevant stakeholders, you will be responsible for supporting young people to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve their learning goals and prepare for the next stage of their lives. The role involves creating a safe, supportive and academically challenging environment, providing tailored support to students while promoting student wellbeing and engagement. You will also contribute to the spiritual and pastoral life of the school and demonstrate a commitment to child safety, professional learning, ethical practice and continuous improvement.
POSITION DUTIES
- Plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate curriculum-aligned teaching programs.
- Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment through effective classroom management, behaviour management and child-safeguarding practices.
- Assess and monitor student learning, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate student records and reports.
- Provide appropriate support for students with individual learning and educational needs.
- Promote students’ academic, spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing and encourage lifelong learning and responsible citizenship.
- Integrate digital technologies effectively into teaching, learning and administration.
- Support the Catholic ethos of the School, including its mission, Gospel values, worship and liturgical life.
- Participate in professional learning, reflection and continuous improvement of teaching practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development, school planning and the review of policies and procedures.
- Build positive and professional relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers and the wider community.
- Participate in school and extracurricular activities that support student development and the broader College community.
- Comply with professional standards, school and policies, confidentiality, child-safety and workplace health and safety requirements.

- Strong curriculum knowledge and demonstrated teaching, assessment and classroom-management capabilities.
- Ability to plan and deliver inclusive learning experiences that meet diverse student needs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration and relationship-building skills.

- Competent use of digital technologies and Microsoft Office applications.

- Commitment to child safety, student wellbeing and continuous professional improvement.
- Commitment to Catholic Education and willingness to maintain required Catholic teaching accreditations.
SALARY
The salary offered will be $86,600 - $147,048 per annum based on your experience.
