About the Organisation

Our client is a Regional Queensland Council supporting a remote outback community. The organisation delivers essential services and infrastructure while maintaining a strong focus on sustainable community outcomes.

The Opportunity

An immediate opportunity is available for an experienced Finance Coordinator to support the Council’s finance function during a short-term period. This is a casual contract commencing as soon as possible with an expected end date of 18th of December 2026.

Daily responsibilities are expected to include:

  • Supporting daily financial administration and transaction processing
  • Coordinating accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
  • Preparing routine financial reports and supporting month-end processes
  • Monitoring invoices, purchase orders and supporting documentation
  • Responding to finance enquiries and liaising with internal Council teams
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and audit-ready documentation
  • Supporting the broader finance team with urgent priorities as required

About You

Recent Local Government finance experience is essential. You will be comfortable stepping into an established Council environment, supporting day-to-day financial operations and contributing with minimal lead time.

You will be organised, reliable and able to work effectively in a remote regional location for the duration of the assignment.

What’s On Offer

This is an immediate short-term contract through to 18 December 2026. Accommodation in addition to travel to and from the community will be covered by the Council. Any extension will depend on Council requirements and will be advised in advance.
