About the Organisation

Our client is a Regional Queensland Council supporting a remote outback community. The organisation delivers essential services and infrastructure while maintaining a strong focus on sustainable community outcomes.

The Opportunity

An immediate opportunity is available for an experienced Records & Administration Officer to support the Council’s records management and general administration functions. This is a casual contract commencing as soon as possible with an expected end date of 18th of December 2026.

Daily responsibilities are expected to include:

  • Registering and distributing incoming and outgoing correspondence
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and hard-copy Council records
  • Classifying, filing, retrieving and archiving documents
  • Capturing documents within the Council’s records management system
  • Assisting with document scanning, data entry and records searches
  • Preparing correspondence, reports and general administrative documents
  • Responding to internal records and information requests
  • Providing general administration support across Council departments
  • Handling sensitive information with accuracy and confidentiality

About You

Recent Local Government experience is essential. You will have practical records management and administration experience, strong attention to detail and confidence using electronic document and records management systems.

You will be organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities while working effectively in a remote regional environment.

What’s On Offer

This is an immediate short-term contract through to 18 December 2026. Accommodation in addition to travel to and from the community will be covered by the Council. Any extension will depend on Council requirements and will be advised in advance.
