POSITION

We have a full-time position of Farm Supervisor in East Palmerston, 4860.

SKILLS

You must hold at least a Certificate IV or higher and at least 1 year of relevant work experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Farm Supervisor is responsible for supervising various cultivation measures across the banana plantation.

DUTIES

You will need to undertake the following tasks:

• Consultancy and planning with the farm managers to meet the business objectives.
• Supervise a wide range of farm operations as de-budding, de-leafing, de-suckering, dieseling, harvesting and packing.
• Ensures deadlines are met for cultivation measures.
• Communicate with managers to coordinate farm hands to assigned tasks and priorities.
• Monitoring hours, tasks performed and resolving any problems.
• Checking the work of farm hands and suggesting any improvements.
• Training farm hands to assigned tasks.
• Organises transportation of staff and produce on the farm.
• Inspecting banana irrigation, infrastructure, scheduling watering and sprinkler maintenance.
• Inspect farming equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out, and repairs are made when necessary.
• Ensure farm hands have appropriate tools and personal protective equipment for anticipated duties.
• Ensure and enforce compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards.

SALARY

The position will attract a salary between $70,000 and $80,000 per annum.
