POSITION

We have a full-time position for a Crop Quality Control Inspector in Mutchilba QLD 4872.

SKILLS

You require at least a Diploma or higher qualification and at least 2 years relevant job experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role as the Crop Quality Control Inspector is to inspect the orchard and produce to ensure healthy fruit production compliance with industry standards and government standards with respect to quarantine, biosecurity and food safety.

POSITION DUTIES

You will need to undertake the following tasks:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of primary agricultural products, such as lychees, longans, and limes, to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications set by regulatory bodies and market demands.
  • Monitor fruit growth, sample fruit quality, visual and taste parameters, chemical residues, pest damage, plant health.
  • Ensure packing facility is operational and clean to ensure optimal production.
  • Provide guidance and training to farm workers involved in harvesting and inspection activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
  • Provide guidance and training to farm workers on correct procedures in determining quality and grade of produce.
  • Inspect the equipment in the packaging facility to ensure its functionality at all times. Prevent damage and blemishing to the produce and arrange for maintenance when necessary.
  • Check final packed produce to ensure quality meets the required standards.
  • Oversee the storage of produce to ensure that temperature control meets regulations.
  • Collect and analyse data from inspections to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in product quality, yield, and efficiency. Utilize insights to implement corrective actions and optimize farming practices.
  • Oversee adherence to safety and hygiene regulations during harvesting, handling, and packaging processes to maintain product integrity and minimize contamination risks.
  • Consult with farm managers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to communicate inspection findings, discuss quality-related issues, and collaborate on strategies to enhance productivity, sustainability, and profitability of farm operations.
  • Additional duties may be required from time to time as required by the business.

SALARY

The salary offered will be $80,000 to $100,000 per annum negotiated based on your experience.
